Job description

Brock Canada Field Services Ltd is looking for a Site Superintendent in the Red Deer, Alberta region. This position reports directly to the Project Manager and is responsible for supporting and growing the business by coordinating all site construction activities and supervising all field personnel to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget. The role ensures all projects are delivered safely, effectively, and profitably, while maintaining compliance. It also supports building the Brock brand by providing world-class service quality to all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Promote and demonstrate Brock’s culture in all aspects of the business.
  2. Manage site safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
  3. Plan and schedule resources, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions.
  4. Assist in developing and implementing project plans, including execution, quality control, and safety plans.
  5. Execute detailed project plans covering timelines, logistics, purchasing, and training.
  6. Build strong cross-functional partnerships across the organization.
  7. Understand the contract terms and manage change orders successfully.
  8. Manage changes to project scope through established change management processes.
  9. Resolve customer issues and discrepancies effectively.
  10. Ensure all necessary authorizations and approvals are obtained before work begins, and that the site is free of hazards.
  11. Assist in quoting and conducting preliminary job walks.
  12. Leverage opportunities to cross-sell Brock’s products and services.
  13. Maintain communication with Project Management and Business Development to meet customer needs.
  14. Identify operational requirements including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  15. Coordinate with Asset Management and Customers on planning, scheduling, and resource demands.
  16. Work with Business Development and Estimating to transition projects from sales to operations.
  17. Manage job costs and profitability, tracking billable activities and working with project controls for corrective actions.
  18. Audit operations for efficiencies and standardization to improve margins.
  19. Manage outsourced services within project constraints.
  20. Follow procurement processes and manage vendor relationships.
  21. Supervise site activities to meet scope, efficiency, and productivity goals.
  22. Conduct performance evaluations, mentor staff, and facilitate training.
  23. Determine labor needs, recruit, and hire skilled personnel within budget.
  24. Ensure compliance with personnel policies and procedures.
  25. Collaborate with HR to resolve employee issues fairly.
  26. Stay updated on industry trends and participate in continuing education.
  27. Attend site meetings proactively and seek opportunities for involvement.
  28. Ensure compliance with client and Brock incident reporting policies.
  29. Review safety policies regularly and recommend improvements to Brock’s safety manual.
