Qualifications

Celeros Flow Technology, LLC ABOUT THE JOB: HR Business Partner – Canada

Location: Burlington, Ontario

Work Environment: Onsite Monday – Friday

Work Schedule/Hours: 8:00 - 4:30pm (occasionally hours will vary based on need)

Job Summary

This position manages human resources activities to support Celeros Flow Technology’s manufacturing facility in Burlington, ON, and service operations in Calgary, AL. Responsibilities include employment, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, communications, policy and procedure development & compliance, compensation, benefits, training, and employee services to meet strategic HR and company objectives. The primary focus is to provide full-range HR support to site leaders, operations managers & supervisors, talent and performance management, and employee services.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Administer and deliver human resources policies and procedures to enable managers to meet their objectives.
  2. Assist management in identifying, evaluating, and resolving work performance gaps or staffing needs.
  3. Advise managers on disciplinary documentation, performance improvement plans, and grievance responses, providing guidance and recommendations.
  4. Manage labor relations, including relationships with Teamsters Canada, bargaining agreement negotiations, and union interactions.
  5. Represent the company with government agencies regarding unionized workforce issues.
  6. Manage talent programs, including talent review processes and leadership training initiatives.
  7. Support HR operations related to health, disability, and retirement benefits, ensuring compliance and effective administration.
  8. Manage performance review processes, including goal deployment, coaching, and training.
  9. Provide employee relations support to ensure fair and compliant handling of complaints, discipline, and performance issues.
  10. Support year-end performance and reward cycles.
  11. Ensure compliance with WSIB and Workers Compensation Board requirements, including incident reporting and communication.
  12. Maintain HR trackers and generate reports for management.
  13. Stay updated on laws and regulations affecting HR practices.
  14. Participate in HR projects to improve service delivery.
  15. Analyze employee engagement trends and support improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of Canadian labor laws and hiring practices.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing facilities.
  • Union experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Self-directed with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instructions.

Required Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in HR Business Partner or Generalist role.
  • Understanding of HR concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Manufacturing and union environment experience preferred.
