Our client is a worldwide leader in business intelligence and analytics.They have engaged ROSS (www.getROSS.com) to help them recruit an Intermediate or Senior Technical Consultant.ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or site HR and Recruitment solutions complimented by leading edge open-source HRIS software.

This is a permanent position.

You will be architecting/designing and developing, delivering and deploying BI applications for our client's customers. You will work with their sales/presales team to grow existing business and win new business as the key technical resource.

Our client will consider both intermediate and senior consultants.

You will:

1. Understand and translate client’s business requirements into workable technical solutions.
2. Participate in application design and architecture.
3. Install and configure technology and solutions.
4. Plan and develop core application components, with an emphasis on BI (Business Intelligence) and ETL.
5. Complete all levels of application testing and Q/A.
6. Prepare all required documentation (specifications, design, system, training).
7. Install and configure our client's software as required.
8. Ensure up-to-date knowledge in industry business and technology solutions, through self-motivated approach to continuous learning.
9. Provide presentations, internally and/or with clients, as required.
10. Mentor other consultants as required.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 3 years work experience with data warehouse, data cleansing, data modeling, data transformations, BI tools, etc.
2. Experience with external clients, in competitive situations (independent software vendor company or Big4 consulting).
3. Strong business acumen to understand client’s data challenges and able to influence them to the best solution.
4. Knowledge of and experience with:
   1. One or more databases including Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, Sybase.
   2. A breadth of operating systems (Windows, Unix, Linux, mainframe) and platforms (IBM, Sun, HP, Windows).
   3. Client server, and multi-tier environments.
   4. Connectivity issues and protocols.
   5. Job scheduling and event/exception management.
   6. Security, file systems, and common network practices.
   7. BEA Weblogic, Websphere, J2EE, web development.
   8. Metadata management and XML.
5. Proficiency in SQL and Java.
6. Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
8. University Degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.

It will be great if you have:

1. ETL software (Informatica, AbInitio, etc).
2. Bilingual (French and English).
3. Data Warehouse/Mart knowledge and experience is preferred, including knowledge of common industry approaches including star schema and ‘corporate information factory’.
4. Knowledge of Unix shell scripting.
5. Experience with BI products and tools (e.g., Cognos, Hyperion, SAS, Business Objects, Information Builders, Generation5, MicroStrategy, CRM, etc).
