Job description

Position Summary: To lead all Produce Associates and department processes to ensure a high level of customer service while meeting production targets.

What you'll do:

1. Receive merchandise, use equipment properly, monitor repair needs, manage required documentation, records, and other paperwork.
2. Maintain presentation in the sales area by storing and rotating merchandise, removing damaged or expired products, setting up and maintaining product displays, and placing signage and pricing.
3. Participate in recruiting, selecting, training, and developing all associates in the produce department.
4. Set an example by greeting all customers politely and courteously, assisting in promoting products and services, identifying merchandise, and making purchasing decisions.
5. Handle all aspects of SALUS planning for the produce section; attend SALUS meetings to review reports on food products, orders, and sales information; ensure proper stock levels in the produce department, and execute marketing and replenishment programs.
6. Ensure proper handling of claims and returns, secure merchandise, identify items with high shrinkage rates, and maintain a safe work environment according to company policies and procedures.
7. Complete and maintain necessary documentation such as inventory tracking reports, waste consignation sheets, invoices, and assigned notes.
