About the Role

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Control Supervisor champions quality and safety at Canada Royal Milk (CRM). The role involves ensuring all materials, processes, and procedures meet regulatory and quality standards, and maintaining the Quality Management System with a focus on continuous improvement.

The Supervisor plans, develops, and implements a comprehensive QMS, including online quality control and internal auditing. Building positive relationships across departments and with regulatory bodies, especially in China, is essential.

Job Requirements

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and possess strong English language skills, both written and spoken.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology

Experience: At least two years in quality control within a food, beverage, or dairy environment, with dairy experience preferred. Minimum of two years supervising and developing employees. Must comply with OHSA regulations and internal policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Monitor and assist onsite operation management.
  2. Maintain product quality, coordinate semi-product and finished goods packaging quality.
  3. Summarize quality data from various sources.
  4. Implement and maintain QMS and related procedures, providing feedback to QA.
  5. Train production technicians in online testing and shadowing.
  6. Supervise QC Technicians and coordinate lab activities for accuracy and efficiency.
  7. Review testing performance, calibration, and equipment maintenance.
  8. Ensure GMP and GLP compliance.
  9. Maintain lab equipment cleanliness, sterilization, and calibration.
  10. Oversee Food Safety programs, including inspections, water testing, environmental swabbing, pest control, and validations.
  11. Update MSDS logs and ensure documentation is current.
  12. Review and document quality checks, maintain electronic records.
  13. Conduct quality controls following system directives and plans.
  14. Monitor sanitation, hygiene, and pest control programs.

Employee Development

  1. Lead and schedule daily activities of Quality Technicians to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  2. Train new employees on food safety and quality policies.
  3. Provide leadership, performance feedback, and training recommendations.
  4. Promote a positive work environment and high employee involvement.
  5. Ensure OSHA regulations are followed, including PPE, fall protection, forklift safety, and hazard communication.

Working Conditions

Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and nights, is required. The environment involves lifting materials up to 50 pounds, operation of machinery with safety gear, and adherence to safety protocols. Candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with exemptions considered for medical or human rights reasons.
