Job summary

Watson Building Supplies - Vaughan is seeking a Delivery Driver (DZ or AZ) to safely operate a commercial vehicle for transporting building materials to customer sites in Vaughan, ON. You will work with the team to exceed customer expectations while adhering to safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a DZ/AZ license with at least three years of driving experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform basic math. High school completion is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license (DZ or AZ class) and a clean driving record.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Completion of high school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform circle-checks and complete logbook entries.
• Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and servicing.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Report all accidents or injuries.
• Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and other trades on job sites.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Transport loads safely following the rules of the road and representing the company to the highest standards.
• Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Position Summary:

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Delivery Driver (DZ or AZ). The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe operation of a commercial vehicle and the transportation of building materials and the placement on customer job sites. Together with other team members, the Driver works to exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform circle-checks and complete logbook entries.
• Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and servicing.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Report all accidents or injuries.
• Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and other trades on job sites.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Transport loads safely following the rules of the road and representing the company to the highest standards.
