Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals in North Bay is seeking a reliable driver to deliver construction equipment to customer sites. You will load, secure and inspect gear, complete daily logs, and communicate with dispatch to keep customers informed.

Qualifications

• Valid DZ driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory abstract.
• Experience operating, loading, securing and transporting heavy equipment.
• Comfortable outdoors year‑round in variable weather and road conditions.
• Physically able to lift ~50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Strong safety focus and professional vehicle stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Deliver construction equipment to and from customer jobsites, including aerial, earth moving and compaction equipment.
• Load/unload, secure gear, and inspect equipment in transit as needed.
• Complete daily pre-/post-inspections, logs and timesheets; check fluid levels.
• Obtain customer signatures on contracts as required.
• Inform supervisor/dispatch of delays or new sales opportunities.
• Verify delivered items match orders; update records accordingly.
• Maintain clean, professional appearance of the truck at all times.
• Provide basic operation tips to customers when needed.

What You’ll Be Doing Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver construction equipment to and from customer jobsites. Equipment fleet includes (but is not limited to) aerial, earth moving and compaction equipment .
• Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.
• Complete thorough and accurate daily pre-inspections and post-inspections, regulatory logs and timesheets. Check gas, oil and other fluid levels .
• Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
• Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
• Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
• Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
• Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified.
• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
• If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get customer’s signature. Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets.
• Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.
• Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.
• Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.

What You’ll Bring to the Team Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid DZ driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
• Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment on flat-bed trucks is required .
• Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions .
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods .Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver .
• Available and willing to work overtime when required and on an on-call rotation if required .
• Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
• Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
