Job summary

Manitoulin Group of Companies is seeking a 5-ton DZ owner-operator for local pickup and delivery within the Sudbury area. The operator will work as an independent contractor, meeting regulatory requirements and providing timely, safe service according to the contract.

We require a current model truck, WCB coverage for operators, and flexibility to work over 5 days per week, including some weekends. The role emphasizes reliability and adherence to service standards.

Qualifications

• DZ Licence required.
• 1 year of experience in pickup & delivery.
• Responsible for loading/unloading freight.
• Good understanding of Hours of Service regulations.
• Forklift ticket is an asset.
• TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are an asset.
• Must provide criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 references.

Responsibilities

• Pickup and deliver freight within the Sudbury service area in accordance with contract terms.
• Efficiently and safely handle LTL freight.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.

We are looking to contract a 5-ton DZ owner-operator for City Pickup & Delivery with knowledge of Sudbury and its surrounding areas. This Owner-Operator will be responsible for the pickup and delivery of freight within the area, while adhering to standards and requirements as outlined in the contract.

Eligibility Criteria:

• We wish to partner with an independent incorporated business to provide a current model truck and qualified operator to provide local pick-up and delivery services within the service area of the Sudbury Terminal.

• The Services require business flexibility but are generally required over 5 days per week and may include some weekends. Operational flexibility is a must.

• The qualified operator is responsible for meeting all regulatory requirements, including Pre and post-trip inspections of equipment and may include the delivery of periodic dock services to load and unload freight as required.

• Operate within the standards and requirements as outlined in the services contract.

• The Business must provide WCB Coverage to its Operators

• Responsible for the pickup and delivery of freight within the Sudburyservice area, while adhering to company policies and procedures

Equipment Requirements:

• Mechanically Fit 5 Ton Straight Truck& ELD Compatible

• Truck specifications that align with the Carrier's Equipment
