Job summary

Manitoulin Transport in Regina is looking for an independent owner-operator to support our carrier’s transportation needs and service its customers. The operator may participate in the Carrier's Safety Code and Fleet Insurance Program.

Responsibilities include local pick-up and delivery within the Regina terminal area, compliance with Hours of Service and safety inspections, and optional dock services as required. This offers steady work patterns within a trusted, expanding company.

Qualifications

• Class One License is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in freight delivery.
• Ability to load/unload freight.
• Understanding of Hours of Service regulations.
• Forklift ticket is an asset.
• TDG and WHMIS knowledge are assets.
• Must provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 references.

Responsibilities

• Provide local pick-up and delivery within the Regina terminal service area.
• Meet regulatory requirements including pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Operate under the carrier's safety and fleet programs as applicable.
• Coordinate with the carrier for dock services as required.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures and ensure safe, efficient LTL freight delivery.

Job Description

We are looking to onboard an independent owner-operator to join our team in support of the Carrier's transportation needs and to service its customers. This Owner-Operator will be granted the option to operate under the Carrier's Nation Safety Code and Fleet Insurance Program.

Business Opportunity

• We wish to partner with an independent incorporated business to provide a current model truck and qualified operator to provide local pick-up and delivery services within the service area of the Regina Terminal.
• The Services require business flexibility but are generally required over 5 days per week and may include some weekends. Operational flexibility is a must.
• The qualified operator is responsible for meeting all regulatory requirements, including Pre and post-trip inspections of equipment, and may include the delivery of periodic dock services to load and unload freight as required.
• Operate within the standards and requirements as outlined in the services contract.
• The Business must provide WCB Coverage to its Operators
• Responsible for the pickup and delivery of freight within the Regina service area, while adhering to company policies and procedures
• Efficiently and safely picking up and delivering LTL freight

Operator Qualifications

• Class One License
• 1 year of experience
• Responsible for loading/unloading freight
• Good understanding of the Hours of Service regulations
• Forklift ticket is an asset
• TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are an asset
• Must be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 references confirming the delivery of service excellence

Equipment Requirements:

• Mechanically Fit City Tractor & ELD Compatible
• Truck specifications that align with the Carrier's requirements
