Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Physician Assistant to deliver acute care within General Internal Medicine at South Health Campus. The PA works with physicians, nurses, pharmacists and dietitians to implement treatment plans and educate patients and families.

Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, have PA training from a Canadian institution, and be eligible for CPSA registration. CPSA licensure and a formal orientation are provided.

Qualifications

• Evidence of PA training at a recognized Canadian institution.
• Applicant should have or be eligible for CPSA registration.

• Registering and maintaining professional licensure with the CPSA is required.

Responsibilities

• Take and document history and physical examination.
• Carry out a treatment plan under the supervising physician.
• Interface with nursing and allied health providers.
• Provide education to patients and families; assist in safe transitions for admissions and discharges.
• Prepare patients for procedures and coordinate care.
