The Application Consultant (AC) must respond to the most difficult applications problems, counseling customers and field personnel. The AC serves as the highest National level advanced applications resource for the technical field organization, and provides support on clinical applications during installations, methodology troubleshooting, demonstrations, evaluations, and customer training. This position requires independent thinking, strong customer orientation and excellent communication skills as well as expert level of knowledge on their product lines they support. The AC will provide field training and mentoring support to the Technical Application Organization to drive standardization in accordance with the procedures and policies established by the Technical Application Organization. In this role, the AC may remain as primary support, and coordinate and perform installations and training on assigned accounts. The AC is also responsible for assisting to drive revenue goals, customer retention initiatives and organization excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Possesses advanced familiarity with the operational and application aspects of the assigned Siemens Healthineers products, as evidenced by the ability to support and train field-based personnel.
  • Supports the field-based organization and customers through phone assistance and on-site customer visits.
  • Provides installation support and Applications installation mentoring.
  • Acts as primary TAS and performs installations and trainings on assigned accounts
  • Provides support for training of customers, TASs and FSRs through curriculum development, participation in the actual FSR or TAS training classes, participation in customer workshops or seminars and on-site training of Siemens personnel or customers.
  • Possesses the ability to do formal presentations in front of large groups of Siemens personnel or customers.
  • Gathers information, technical issues and concerns from the field and conveys them to Global Product Support, and in turn, conveys information from GPS back to the field, keeping abreast of current trends and product improvements.
  • Participates in the call escalation process to effectively solve customer problems as the second level regional support, escalating to a North American level when necessary.
  • Identifies and manages critical account situations as necessary.
  • Conducts instrument and product demonstrations and evaluations when required.
  • May be called upon to participate in trade shows, workshops, and seminars.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Service personnel in support of the sales effort and in overall customer support and retention.
  • Assist and supports the sales organization in the RFP process.
  • Appropriately documents all work and communicates pertinent information to customers and Siemens’ personnel.
  • Develops and drives standardization processes to the technical organization.
  • Compliance with established safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with Siemens Standards for Business Conduct.
  • Siemens Healthineers are required to always fulfill their work activities in an ethical and compliant manner.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • MLT or B.Sc. in Medical Technology or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years field experience required.
  • Excellent technical skills on the specific product line(s) assigned.
  • Proven advanced skills in method and system troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively handle customer problems and support the sales team’s efforts.
  • Independent thinking and the ability to make critical decisions with minimal supervision is essential.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of competency in decision making and be willing to take reasonable risk to achieve their objectives.
  • Ability to prioritize critical customers.
  • Strong presentation and objection handling skills.
  • As a National role, travel may be required.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Competency in both English and French is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a SHS Technical Applications Specialist is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected compensation for this position is: $83,500 - $119,500. Factors which may affect starting compensation within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Position must have full access to Siemens Healthineers' client sites to perform the essential functions of this position.
