Job summary

Celero Communications Inc. seeks a DSP - Optical Design Engineer to help build next-generation optical transceivers.

The role centers on developing DSP algorithms for high-speed optical modems and collaborating across ASIC, firmware, and verification teams. Ideal candidates hold a Master’s or PhD in EE/Physics/Math with 2+ years of industry experience, and strong skills in DSP, digital communications, and programming (C/C++, Python, MATLAB).

Qualifications

  • Strong theoretical background in digital signal processing and communications.
  • Experience developing DSP algorithms for high-speed optical systems.
  • Candidates with industry experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and evaluate DSP algorithms for high-speed optical communication systems.
  • Design and optimize DSP blocks in optical transceivers (adaptive equalization, timing recovery, carrier phase recovery, polarization demux, nonlinear compensation).
  • Develop system-level simulation models of optical links and evaluate DSP performance under realistic channels.
  • Analyze performance under impairments like noise, chromatic dispersion, polarization, and hardware non-idealities.
  • Verify and optimize performance through floating-point and fixed-point simulations.
  • Develop bit- and cycle-accurate models to support ASIC implementation.
  • Document design details and collaborate with ASIC, firmware, and verification teams for silicon implementation.
