Job summary

Kibbi is hiring drywall installers for commercial and residential projects across a variety of locations in Calgary and area. The role requires precision in finishing drywall, taping, and ceiling grid work, with adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work at heights.

Candidates should have a secondary high school diploma and 1–2 years of related experience. Hours typically range 35–40 per week, with permanent employment opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Secondary high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation or related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry.
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound.
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms.
