Job summary

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation is required.
• 1 year to less than 2 years of construction experience.
• On-site work only; no remote option.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Supervise other workers on site to ensure safety and quality.
• Clean and prepare surfaces for finishing and painting.
• Cut and install metal corner beads and drywall sheets as specified.
• Fill joints and holes with joint compound using trowel and knife.
• Finish corners and angles; create decorative designs if required.
• Position and secure drywall sheets to studs or joists.
• Execute stucco coats over building exteriors for weatherproofing.
• Prepare wall and ceiling layouts; estimate required costs and materials.

• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
• Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
• Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
• Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets
• Install exterior and interior steel studs
• Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
• Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
• Estimate costs and materials
