Job summary

Kibbi in Surrey is seeking an experienced drywall installer to join our construction team. You will apply joint compound, tape joints, and install drywall sheets and ceiling grids as part of interior finish work.

The role requires 1–2 years of prior drywall experience, proficiency in English, and a 35-hour workweek. This is a permanent position with steady daytime hours in a construction setting.

Responsibilities

• Apply successive coats of joint compound and smooth seams.

• Position and secure sheets to studs or joists.
• Tape joints and embed tape in compound.
• Finish joints and allow coats to dry.

TASKS

• * Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
• * Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
• * Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to
  form acoustical and coffered ceilings
• * Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
• * Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
• * Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
• * Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
• * Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
