Job summary

MERIDA'S CONSTRUCTION LTD in Edmonton is seeking reliable workers for drywall finishing and exterior stucco tasks. The role offers permanent employment with a 40-hour work week and starts as soon as possible.

Travel is frequent; work will take place at various locations in and around Edmonton. Candidates should have a strong focus on safety and quality when installing drywall and stucco systems.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate is required.
• 2–3 years of relevant construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
• Clean and prepare surfaces.
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
• Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces.
• Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
