Job summary

Sehmi Drywall is seeking a drywall installer (TEER 73102) in Canada on a permanent full-time basis. Start date as soon as possible; 1 position available. Education: high school completed; experience: 1–2 years in drywall-related work.

Safety and proper PPE are required; criminal record check. Priority to citizens/PRs. Responsibilities include installing and finishing drywall, leveling and applying plaster, and working at heights with scaffolding.

Qualifications

• High school education is required.
• 1–2 years of experience in drywall/related industry.
• Criminal record check required.
• Priority given to Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents.

Responsibilities

• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster.
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
• Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency.
• Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exterior of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces.
• Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
• Install exterior and interior steel studs.
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound.
