Job summary

The Boss Construction Ltd in Abbotsford, BC is seeking a drywall installer to join our on-site team. You will read blueprints and specifications, apply plaster, and install drywall sheets at the designated location in Fraser Valley. This full-time permanent role requires physical capability and the ability to work at heights.

Applicants should have 2–3 years of drywall experience, basic English, and a high school diploma. On-site work with flexible hours and a 30-hour workweek is offered.

Qualifications

• 2 years to less than 3 years of drywall installer experience.
• English language required.
• Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster
• Clean and prepare surfaces
• Cure freshly plastered surfaces
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
• Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
• Estimate costs and materials
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
