Rabani Drywall Ltd. is a Surrey-based construction company specializing in professional drywall installation, taping, finishing, and related interior construction services for residential, commercial, and renovation projects throughout Surrey and the Lower Mainland.

We are seeking experienced and reliable Drywall Installers to measure, cut, fit, and securely install drywall sheets on walls and ceilings, prepare surfaces, install corner beads, tape and finish joints, and perform related repair

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Relevant education or 2-3 years drywall trade experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Punctual and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and prepare surfaces for drywall installation.
• Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings.
• Position and fasten drywall sheets to studs or joists.
• Install metal corner beads and protect edges.
• Apply joint compound and tape joints for a smooth finish.
• Sand seams and prepare surfaces for additional coats.
• Fabricate and install suspended ceiling grids and panels.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Provide accurate material estimates and minimize waste.
• Maintain tools and equipment and perform other duties as required.

Work Location: Various locations in Surrey & other areas of Lower Mainland (BC) as per company’s contracts

Salary: $ 29.00 – $31.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

• Inspect and prepare surfaces for drywall installation, including removing old plaster or drywall and fixing issues with existing structures.
• Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings, ensuring precision in alignment and sizing.
• Position and securely fasten drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists using appropriate tools and fasteners.
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and edges, ensuring a clean and durable finish.
• Apply joint compound to fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks using a trowel and broad knife for a smooth surface.
• Use a taping machine to tape over joints, embedding the tape firmly within the joint compound for seamless joints.
• Smooth out excess compound after taping and allow the coat to dry completely to prepare for additional coats.
• Apply successive coats of compound, sanding seams and joints after each coat to achieve a smooth, finished surface.
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids, and accurately place panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations during installation processes.
• Provide accurate estimates of materials required and ensure minimal waste during the installation process.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and available for use when needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
