Job summary

City Professional Trades Inc in Etobicoke, ON is seeking a skilled plasterer for permanent, full-time work on site. You will read blueprints and specifications, instruct apprentices, and supervise 3–4 workers across various commercial, institutional, and residential projects in Canada.

You'll apply plaster coats, finish seams, maintain surfaces, and estimate costs and materials. The role requires 2–3 years of experience, the ability to work at heights, and flexibility with mornings, days,

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of plastering experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Instruct apprentices and supervise workers.
• Knowledge of plastering, sealing and finishing techniques.
• Willingness to work at heights and on scaffolding.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Instruct apprentices.
• Supervise other workers.
• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster.
• Clean and prepare surfaces.
• Cure freshly plastered surfaces.
• Fill joints and holes with joint compound.
• Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency.
• Tape joints using a taping machine and embed tape.
• Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
• Supervise 3-4 people.

Responsibilities

• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
• Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
• Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
• Estimate costs and materials
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Supervision 3-4 people
