Job summary

Target Drywall & Acoustics Ltd. is hiring a skilled drywall journeyman for multi-site projects in the Greater Toronto Area. You will review PDI deficiency lists, apply tape and joint compound, mix plaster, and smooth coats using trowels and spraying equipment.

You’ll inspect repairs, patching, caulking, and finish work, coordinate with site supervisors and homeowners, protect surfaces, and document progress with before-and-after photos while following safety rules and company policies.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of related experience with PDI/deficiency or handyman work.
• Knowledge of hand and power finishing tools, taping machines, and mixing equipment.
• Knowledge of drywall, painting and finishing repairs.

Responsibilities

• Review and complete PDI deficiency lists.
• Apply paper or mesh tape and joint compound over drywall joints.
• Mix plaster ingredients in trough to desired consistency.
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster using trowels, floats, brushes and spraying equipment.
• Cure freshly plastered surfaces.
• Perform drywall repairs, patching, sanding and painting touch-ups.
• Complete minor caulking and finishing work.
• Repair minor damage to walls, ceilings and finishes.
• Identify incomplete or defective work and report any issues requiring another trade.
• Protect finished surfaces and keep work areas clean.
• Take before-and-after photos and provide updates on completed work.
• Coordinate with site supervisors, homeowners and other trades when required.
• Follow all company policies and health and safety requirements.

Job description

Wage:
$34.98 per hour (full-time position; 37.5 hours) + benefits in accordance with UNION collective agreement

Location of Work:
Various locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Province of Ontario

• Ability to lift heavy materials, work in awkward positions, and work on ladders or scaffolding


• Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently


• Able to follow instructions and work well with others on construction sites.


• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills


• Ability to read deficiency lists and follow instructions


• Own basic tools and reliable transportation


• Valid driver’s licence
