Job summary

Blackfin Doors & Gates is seeking a Sales & Project Manager for the Gates division to estimate, bid and manage drive gates installations and automation.

You will monitor site progress, coordinate orders, direct technicians, and ensure projects meet scope, timeline and budget while upholding quality standards and strong customer communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Project Manager in construction or related field.
• Strong understanding of construction documents and contracts.
• Must be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, field management software and other PM tools.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Estimates & Bids: Prepare Estimates and Bids for review with the General Manager and submit approved projects within required timelines.
• Sales Relationships: Create and maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, developers, suppliers and vendors.
• Purchasing: Track all product purchases and ensure orders are documented and meet installation requirements.
• Quality Control: Ensure that estimated products meet project requirements and manufacturer recommendations.
• Field Support: Provide technicians with information, drawings and site details for accurate completion of work.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of scope of work, site plans, budgets, quotes and purchases.
• Representation: Represent Blackfin Doors & Gates with professionalism and uphold customer service guidelines.

Sales & Project Manager - Gates

Blackfin Doors & Gates offers installation and service of overhead residential garage doors, commercial parkade and rolling steel doors, and driveway gates. Please note that we are only considering applicants with previous or relevant experience at this time.

Position Overview

Our Sales & Project Manager is responsible for providing estimates and bids within our Gates department for the installation of driveway and security gates and their associated automation, and managing all aspects of the project to completion once a bid has been approved. This includes, but is not limited to, proactively monitoring site progress, communicating with site contacts to ensure that product is ordered at appropriate times to meet site requirements for installation, providing direction to the technicians to ensure that the project is completed as per the scope of work, and ensuring that the project is delivered within budget. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, high level of organization, strong communication, customer service skills and commitment to quality control will be essential in meeting the guidelines of this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimates & Bids: Complete daily review of emails and bid sites to identify potential work. Prepare Estimates and Bids for review with the General Manager and submit approved projects within required timelines.
• Sales Relationships: Create and maintain positive relationships with our customers, contractors, developers, suppliers and vendors. Respond to all questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner to protect ongoing relationships.
• Purchasing: Track all product purchases required for ongoing work and ensure that product is ordered as needed to meet site installation requirements. Ensure orders are documented as per company guidelines.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all estimated products are within the requirements of the project while meeting the manufacturer recommendations and upholding company standards of work.
• Field Support: Ensure that technicians are provided with all information needed to accurately complete their scope of work, including providing accurate directions, drawings and site information.
• Documentation: Provide and maintain detailed records of scope of work, site plans, budgets, product quotes and purchases, change orders, site communications and all other project related documents as per company guidelines.
• Representation: Represent Blackfin Doors and Gates within the community, maintaining professionalism and meeting all customer service guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years experience as a Project Manager required, preferably in construction or a related field. Strong understanding of construction documents and contracts is required.
• Organization: Must be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and successfully.
• Programs: Must have a high level of competency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, field management software and other project management tools.
• Lifting: Must be capable of lifting materials weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required, and clean driver’s abstract.
