Job summary

American Iron & Metal Co in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking an experienced Driver Supervisor to manage a fleet of drivers and ensure safe, efficient transportation operations. The role reports to the Director of Transportation and involves auditing routes, improving efficiency, and ensuring customer service excellence.

You will lead a team, coordinate driver assignments, and ensure compliance with regulations while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• AZ or DZ license preferred.
• 2+ years experience in a supervisory role.
• 5+ years experience in the transportation, logistics, or solid waste industry.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a track record of making effective decisions under pressure.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office and transportation management software and technology for tracking and reporting.
• GEOTAB experience is an asset.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel to the US.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed, available by phone after-hours.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experiencedDriver Supervisor to join our team in Hamilton, Ontario,reporting to the Director of Transportation. As a Driver Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of drivers out of different locations.You will regularly audit current delivery and pick-up routes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements without sacrificing safety and customer service. Qualified candidates will be self-driven and demonstrate exceptional workplace safety standards, attention to detail, efficiency, customer service, continuous improvement and strong verbal and written communication skills.
