Job summary

Canada Cartage is hiring a Truck Class 1 Delivery Driver in Laval, QC. This full-time role covers local and regional deliveries with a day shift starting between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.

The position offers an hourly rate of $25.27 per hour and requires a valid Class 1 licence and a clean driving record. You will operate a Class 1 vehicle, ensure safety and compliance with hours-of-service rules, and provide excellent customer service while safely handling loads and backing into loading docks.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driver's licence with a minimum of 6 months of experience.
• Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Driver's abstract dated within the last 30 days.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable driving in city and highway conditions, including frequent tight turns and backing into narrow loading docks.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle for local and regional deliveries.
• Drive comfortably in both city and highway environments.
• Park trailers efficiently and tidy yard spacing to help traffic flow.
• Follow company rules and regulations with respect to safety and hours of service.
• Ensure trailers are in good working condition and readily available to be loaded.
• Safely perform regular tight turns and back into narrow loading docks.
• Lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
