Job summary

Kal Tire Transport in Chilliwack, BC seeks a skilled Class 1 Driver to deliver tires and automotive accessories across British Columbia, including Vancouver Island. The role is full-time with benefits and requires overnight travel and hands-on loading of tires.

You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain ELD compliance, and build positive relationships at Kal Tire locations. The position starts at $36.64 per hour with a 40–70 hour work week depending on federally regulated hours.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 Driver’s License; manual and automatic experience preferred.
• Must meet physical demands, including repeated manual lifting of tires.
• Previous long-distance driving experience.
• Prior chain-up experience; basic mechanical knowledge.
• Commitment to safety and environmentally responsible workplace.
• Availability for shift rotations, including some Sunday starts.
• Overnights required.

Responsibilities

• Pre‑and post‑trip inspections, including hooking up and pulling a 2‑trailer combination.
• Maintain an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) in compliance with hours‑of‑service regulations and report any equipment defects or damages.
• Frequent stops at Kal Tire locations throughout assigned routes.
• Consistently bend, lift, carry, and maneuver tires by hand.
• Load outbound freight and unload inbound deliveries accurately using correct piece counts.
• Obtain signed delivery paperwork and manage documentation for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Load returns and tire casings from stores back to warehouses and retread plants.
• Drive safely through mountain terrain and winter conditions, including chain‑up when required.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with Kal Tire team members at delivery locations.
