Kal Tire Transport in Chilliwack, BC seeks a skilled Class 1 Driver for full-time tire delivery across British Columbia, including Vancouver Island. The role involves manual tire handling, overnight trips, and safe driving in mountain/winter conditions with regular Kal Tire store stops.

Applicants should have a clean Class 1 license, be able to lift tires, and commit to safety. Overnight availability and a recent Driver’s Abstract are required.

Qualifications

• Valid and clean Class 1 Driver’s License; manual and automatic experience preferred.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including repeated lifting of tires.
• Previous long-distance driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, including hooking up 2-trailer combos.
• Maintain ELD in compliance with hours-of-service regulations and report defects.
• Make frequent stops at Kal Tire locations along routes.
• Manually handle tires and related freight safely.
• Load outbound freight and unload inbound deliveries with accurate counts.
• Obtain delivery paperwork and manage inbound/outbound documentation.

Job description

Kal Tire Transport is hiring a skilled Class 1 Driver based in Chilliwack, BC to deliver tires and automotive accessories across British Columbia, including Vancouver Island. Full‑time with benefits, it’s not just about the miles, it’s about the journey. If you enjoy the physical demands of loading and unloading by hand, frequent stops at store locations, mountain and winter driving, and the balance of overnight travel across BC, we’ve got an opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

• Pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, including hooking up and pulling a 2‑trailer combination
• Maintain an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) in compliance with hours‑of‑service regulations and report any equipment defects or damages
• Frequent stops at Kal Tire locations throughout assigned routes
• Consistently bend, lift, carry, and maneuver tires by hand
• Load outbound freight and unload inbound deliveries accurately using correct piece counts
• Obtain signed delivery paperwork and manage documentation for inbound and outbound shipments
• Load returns and tire casings from stores back to warehouses and retread plants
• Drive safely through mountain terrain and winter conditions, including chain‑up when required
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with Kal Tire team members at delivery locations

Requirements

• Valid and clean Class 1 Driver’s License, manual and automatic experience preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including repeated manual lifting and handling of tires.
• Previous long‑distance driving experience.
• Prior chain‑up experience.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.
• Commitment to safety and contributing to a safe, environmentally responsible workplace.
• Availability for shift rotations, including some Sunday starts.
• Overnights required.
