Job summary

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) is seeking a Communications Advisor to support a culture of inclusion and innovation. Reporting to Marketing, you will plan, write, and produce communications with internal teams and the Friends group.

You will manage editorial calendars, develop donor materials, and coordinate distribution via Mailchimp, while collaborating across departments to advance CMHR priorities.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in communications (writing/editing, content creation, fundraising or donor relations).
  • Experience developing communications products for key audiences, ideally fundraising related.
  • Commitment to human rights principles and inclusive language.

Responsibilities

  • Research, write and design communications products (stories, mail, newsletters, reports).
  • Distribute pieces via Mailchimp or other platforms and coordinate mailings.
  • Liaise with internal staff and external contractors for design, printing and media.
  • Edit texts and layouts; support gala and donor events materials.
  • Prepare responses to inquiries from donors and media; monitor activities.
