Job summary

Allnorth is seeking an Intermediate Document Control Specialist to join our Vancouver team. You will manage document control, distribution, retrieval, and filing for multiple clients, ensuring alignment with project deadlines and client procedures.

The role requires familiarity with EDMS, MS Office, Acrobat and Bluebeam Revu, plus strong communication across departments and vendors. The position supports flexible on-site, hybrid, or remote work within Canada.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/degree/certificate in an applicable field is an asset but not required.
  • 3–5 years’ experience with engineering and vendor documents.
  • Solid understanding of document lifecycles and revision control.
  • Experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
  • Strong communication with other departments, clients, and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Document control, distribution, retrieval and filing of all project documents.
  • Assist with understanding internal and client document control requirements.
  • Attend project meetings as required.
  • Create templates for use by other personnel and maintain confidentiality of sensitive documents.
  • Keep others updated on new document versions and access procedures.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are currently looking for an Intermediate Document Control Specialist to join our Vancouver team. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for document control, distribution of documents, retrieval and filing of all project documents, and other related duties as directed by the Document Control Group Lead and is accountable to Project Managers for meeting scheduled deadlines. The location is flexible.

A Day in the Life
  • Work for multiple clients with varying requirements
  • Quality check incoming and outgoing documents, in accordance with Allnorth’s QMS and client procedures
    Assist disciplines with understanding of internal and client document control requirements
  • Attend project meetings as required
  • Keep other personnel updated on new document versions and how to obtain access
  • Create templates for use by other personnel
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive documents
What You’ll Bring to the Team
  • A diploma, degree, or certificate in an applicable field is an asset, but not required
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with engineering and vendor documents
  • A solid understanding of document lifecycles, revision control, and overall document control best practices
  • Worked in various Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
  • Effective, professional communication with other departments, clients, and vendors
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam Revu
  • Ability to multitask in a schedule-driven environment with shifting priorities
  • A willingness to learn from a team of experienced document controllers
