Job summary

Manitoulin Transport is seeking a Dock Supervisor in Saskatoon to cover vacation relief on full-time shifts. You will lead a dock crew across 8- to 12-hour shifts, ensuring service targets, safety protocols and operational efficiency are met.

You will enforce proper handling procedures, train new staff, report damages and incidents, and collaborate with planners to uphold high freight standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience leading dock teams and coordinating shifts.
• Ability to enforce safety rules and train new staff.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of LTL cross dock operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Dock Supervisor for varying shifts, for vacation relief

Various shifts: 8- to 12-hour shifts. This will be full-time hours

Lead and direct a dock crew to achieve shift objectives. Communicate, problem solve and react to challenges with service, safety, and operational targets in mind.

Enforce proper handling procedures with a focus on reducing damages and accurate exception reporting.

Work with fellow supervisors and planners to achieve desirable results.

Maintain accountability for all freight working to ensure service standards are being met.

Ensure all employees are instructed in safe work practices, and that work is carried out safely. You will be responsible for enforcing procedures with current dock staff to train new staff. You will be required to act on collisions, spills, and injuries.

• Previous experience working an LTL cross dock.
• Ability to lead, delegate, and multitask.
• Flexible hours to accommodate the vacation of fellow supervisors.
• Strong geographical knowledge of the Saskatoon service area.
