Job summary

Leavitt Machinery is seeking a skilled Field Technician (Dock & Door) to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will maintain dock equipment, dock plates, and overhead doors, performing installations and repairs at customer sites.

The ideal candidate will have a Journeyperson's ticket (Heavy Duty/Automotive) and experience with electrical troubleshooting, welding, and reading schematics.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Welding, torching and grinding steel experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install docks, doors, operators, vertical seal packages and traffic light systems to upgrade customer needs.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair dock equipment including dock plates and overhead doors.
• Build relationships with customers and clearly communicate job scopes and repair requirements.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections on equipment and establish procedures and cost guidelines at customer sites.
• Coordinate with the Dispatcher and keep Parts updated to ensure required parts are available.
• Prepare parts before visiting job sites and communicate with Parts for availability.
• Complete work order forms for assigned jobs and maintain documentation.
• Adhere to warranty policies and complete warranty documentation.
• Report safety incidents according to company policy.
