Job summary

Fort McMurray Public School Division invites applications for a Grade 5 Teacher at Dave McNeilly Public School. This temporary, full-time position runs from August 25, 2026 to February 26, 2027 or until the incumbent returns, with a start date of August 25, 2026.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Education and proven elementary teaching experience, with strong knowledge of the Alberta curriculum, and the ability to design Individual Program Plans and support FNMI and ELL students.

Dave McNeilly Public School is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our instructional team in the role of Grade 5 Teacher.

Requirements: Bachelor of Education Degree Desired Qualifications/Skills:

• Proven successful teaching experience in an elementary school setting.
• Have a strong knowledge of Alberta Elementary curriculum.
• Have an ability to design and implement Individual Program Plans.
• Have demonstrated ability creating a classroom characterized by inclusion, equity and differentiated instruction.
• Has demonstrated an ability to support and meet the needs of FNMI and ELL students in the classroom.
• Previous experience in establishing strong positive connection with students outside the classroom (ie. clubs and teams)
• Possess superior organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Exhibit a strong work ethic..
• Be flexible and willing to adapt. - Be open to new programs and initiatives.
• Be a reflective practitioner.
• Be willing to participate in the school community beyond the classroom.
• Recognize the importance of promoting the school with parents and in the community.
