We have an opportunity for a District Sales Manager to join our Hematology and Oncology team. This role involves implementing and executing strategic plans, ensuring alignment of commercial activities at a national level, and collaborating closely with the extended in-field team.

This position includes leading and coaching a team to maximize sales results, placing the patient at the center of efforts, and operating within AbbVie's policies and applicable laws. The role is field-based in Montreal (Quebec) and will cover QC, BC, AB & SK.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Deliver sales performance and KPIs to meet or exceed the district sales plan within budget.
  • Attract, retain, develop, engage, lead, and coach sales representatives. Ensure regular updates on team skills in medical, technical, and in-field knowledge.
  • Optimize resource use by setting and monitoring performance targets, budgets, and KPIs.
  • Manage cross-functional cooperation: lead multidisciplinary In-Field Teams (IFT) and ensure strategic alignment and effective communication between teams.
  • Ensure district activities align with brand strategy and national priorities to drive success.
  • Monitor regional engagement outcomes to inform brand planning and anticipate market needs.
  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders to meet their needs and achieve mutual goals.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders to maximize brand objectives.
  • Contribute to leadership within the hematology and oncology divisions, fostering a positive culture.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Science, or related field, or equivalent.
  • Proven success in biotech/pharma sales or management (+5 yrs).
  • Leadership, management, and coaching experience (+2-3 yrs).
  • Head Office experience is an asset (+2 yrs).
  • Knowledge of marketing, financial processes, Market Access, Project Management, and regulatory environment is preferred.
  • Strong account management skills.

Essential Skills & Abilities:

  • Talent development in biotech/pharma.
  • Ability to build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and stakeholders.
  • Strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Fluent in French (for Quebec) and English.
  • Proficient with MS Office, internet, and digital tools.
  • Willingness to travel overnight 50-60% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license and passport required.

  • Deep understanding of strategy execution and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to lead, monitor, and adjust account plans.
  • Business judgment and market assessment skills.
  • Leverage marketing knowledge and data analysis for planning and decision-making.
