Job summary

Grainger Canada is seeking a Manager, District Sales to lead a high-performance sales team across the district. You will drive the sales plan, manage budgets and coordinate with regional leadership to hit targets while ensuring ethical standards and safety practices are followed.

The role requires several years of successful selling and preferably sales management experience, plus strong organizational and communication skills. Travel to customer sites and field offices is expected.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from Technical School, University or College with focus on Sales & Marketing Management, plus experience
  • Several years of successful selling and preferably sales management experience
  • Experience and proven ability to supervise and motivate a large sales force
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Computer literate/training
  • Proven ability to make own decisions within defined limits of the position
  • Attend customer sites and adhere to safety requirements, including PPE and possible drug/alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with top 50 customers within the district
  • Collaborate with Branch Managers to meet customer needs
  • Perform other district sales manager duties

Compensation

The base salary ranges between $96,960 - $133,320, with eligibility for a target incentive of $21,600 contingent upon achieving both individual and company performance objectives. The range is an estimate and may change over time. Grainger reserves the right to amend its compensation and benefits programs at any time per applicable law.

Position Details

The Manager, District Sales will be responsible for achieving sales plan and account targets.

You Will
  • Develop and maintain a motivated and competent team capable of achieving the district’s sales goals
  • Lead professional development and training of the Sales Force
  • Assist the Regional Director with the development and implementation of the district sales plan
  • Consult with the Regional Director to set priorities and action plans to achieve objectives set out in the district sales plan
  • Establish sales budgets and customer territory lists for each sales representative in the district
  • Ensure sales penetration, market share, and GM% growth targets are met
  • Review at least each fiscal quarter the progress to budget of each Field Sales Representative; provide feedback and take corrective action to address shortcomings
  • Ensure company’s Code of Ethics is understood and adhered to
  • Liaise with top 50 customers/prospects within the district
  • Work closely with Branch Managers and Sales Representatives to meet customer needs
  • Perform other district sales manager related duties
You Have
  • Graduation from Technical School, University or College with focus on Sales & Marketing Management, plus experience
