Job summary

Stitch It is seeking a District Manager to lead multiple store managers across the district, translating business goals into store-level execution. You will coach, develop, and hold leaders accountable while ensuring strong sales, labour optimization, customer service, and adherence to Stitch It standards.

Regular presence in stores, travel within the district, and collaboration with Head Office will be required as you shape region operations, drive growth, and deliver a consistently exceptional

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in retail, sales, or service industries with at least 3 years in district or multi-store management.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets, driving operational excellence, and leading high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with a professional and collaborative approach.
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret KPIs, market trends, and financial data, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail systems.

Responsibilities

  • Drive district performance across sales, labour, turnover, turnaround/on-time performance, quality, and customer experience.
  • Analyze district results, identify trends and performance gaps, and develop action plans with Store Managers.
  • Maintain a strong field presence through regular store visits and follow-ups on priorities.
  • Ensure consistent execution of policies, procedures, service standards, health and safety requirements, and processes.
  • Build strong management teams through recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Monitor staffing needs and address vacancies and capability gaps.
  • Coach managers on scheduling and labour optimization to align with volume.
  • Set expectations, provide timely feedback, recognize performance, and address concerns.
  • Champion a consistent customer experience across locations and manage escalations.
  • Lead regional communications and ensure understanding of priorities and initiatives.
  • Support store openings, renovations, transitions, and other projects.
  • Continuously reprioritize district activities based on needs and opportunities.

Stitch It Alterations and Dry Cleaning is North America's premier provider of tailoring and dry-cleaning services, renowned for our 30-day fit guarantee.

Reports to: Director of Operations

The District Manager is responsible for building, training, and leading a team of store managers to excel at bringing Stitch It's mission and vision to life. Must ensure that associates' needs are met, customers' expectations are exceeded, and the Company's operating standards and profitability goals are achieved.

This role is ideal for a hands-on multi-unit leader who knows how to translate business goals into store-level execution. The District Manager will lead, coach, and develop Store Managers while ensuring strong sales performance, effective labour management, operational excellence, exceptional customer service, and consistent execution of Company standards.

More than overseeing day-to-day operations, the District Manager is expected to build capable leaders, understand the business behind the numbers, identify opportunities early, and create clear action plans that drive sustainable results.

Regular presence in the stores is a critical part of this role.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers to operate their locations with strong business ownership and accountability.

Drive district performance across key indicators including sales, labour, average sale, turnaround/on-time performance, quality, and customer experience.

Analyze store and district results, identify trends and performance gaps, and develop practical action plans with Store Managers.

Maintain a strong field presence through regular store visits, assessing operational execution and following up on agreed actions and priorities.

Ensure consistent execution of Company policies, procedures, service standards, health and safety requirements, and operational processes.

Build strong management teams by supporting recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, talent development, and succession planning.

Monitor staffing needs across the district and proactively address vacancies, capability gaps, and succession risks.

Coach managers on scheduling and labour optimization to ensure staffing aligns with business volume and operational needs.

Establish clear expectations, provide timely feedback, recognize strong performance, and address performance concerns with appropriate follow-up.

Champion a consistent and exceptional customer experience across all locations and support managers in resolving escalated customer situations.

Ensure stores maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, merchandising, equipment, and overall operational readiness.

Lead regular regional communications and meetings to ensure managers understand Company priorities, results, expectations, and upcoming initiatives.

Support store openings, renovations, transitions, and other operational projects as required.

Continuously reprioritize district activities based on business needs, urgency, and performance opportunities.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in a District Manager, Area Manager, Regional Manager, or similar multi-unit retail leadership role.

Strong experience leading and developing Store Managers and building high-performing teams.

Demonstrated ability to manage a business through KPIs, financial results, labour management, and operational metrics.

Proven ability to identify performance gaps, coach effectively, and hold leaders accountable for results.

Strong customer-service orientation and experience managing escalated situations.

Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional Head Office partners.

Additional Responsibilities and Expectations

Valid driver's licence and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned district.

Flexibility to work according to retail business needs, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

7-10 years of experience in retail, sales, or service industries, with at least 3 years in district or multi-store management.(Alterations industry is an asset)

Proven track record of achieving sales targets, driving operational excellence, and leading high-performing teams.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with a professional and collaborative approach.

Strong analytical abilities to interpret KPIs, market trends, and financial data, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail systems (e.g., POS, scheduling tools).

Commitment to Stitch It's mission, vision, and values, with a passion for customer service and sustainability.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently within GTHA.
