School District 5 Southeast Kootenay in Elkford, BC is seeking a Counsellor for Grades K-12 on a 1.0 FTE continuing contract, starting September 8, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process. This on-site position is based in Elkford, BC.

The successful applicant will hold a Master’s degree recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch in Counselling or Psychology, with teaching experience at the K-12 level and training in trauma-informed practice. BC Teacher Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counselling or Psychology recognized by BC Teacher Regulation Branch.
• K-12 teaching experience preferred or required.

Salary Range: The starting annual salary ranges from $70,392 to $119,187, based on experience and qualifications.

Counsellor – Grades K-12 (1.0 FTE continuing contract). Starting September 8, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process. This position is on site in Elkford, BC.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch in Counselling, Psychology in Counselling or Psychology.
• Degree/formal training and/or teaching experience at the K‑12 level.
• Training and/or experience in trauma‑informed practice.
• BC Teacher Certification preferred.
