Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Distribution Centre Manager will be responsible for managing the distribution center to ensure that the company's internal and external customer service standards and objectives are fully met. This position will also perform warehouse duties and functions to support inventory integrity, order processing – including picking, packing, staging, shipping – and general maintenance and housekeeping duties to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and manage product distribution activities to achieve company goals.
- Develop continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices with team members.
- Implement new distribution strategies to enhance profitability.
- Analyze existing distribution procedures and recommend improvements.
- Monitor and manage inventories at the distribution center.
- Identify appropriate resources and assign workloads and schedules.
- Oversee daily operations of team members and provide assistance when needed.
- Perform administrative duties and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Provide outstanding customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage storage and handling of inventories in warehouses.
- Prepare budgets and manage expenses within allocated budgets.
- Manage carriers to ensure timely distribution along assigned routes.
- Develop and manage KPIs and scorecards to oversee operations effectively.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of leadership experience, preferably in a wholesale/distribution environment.
- Strong management and customer service skills.
- Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and culture.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
