Job summary

Cook Bus Lines in Mount Forest is seeking a full-time Dispatcher to manage real-time communication with drivers, school district personnel and parents for daily routes and activities.

The role requires coordinating vehicles, monitoring drivers, and solving issues to ensure on-time service. The shift runs Monday through Friday with a split schedule from 6:00 am–10:00 am and 1:00 pm–5:00 pm, with pay at $22.47 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Polite and able to balance needs of drivers, customers, and the office.
  • Ability to work well under stress.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume dispatch setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the road network around Wellington North.
  • Possess or willing to obtain a valid Class-B license (free upgrade offered by STC).
  • Willing to share on-call responsibilities (after training).
  • Must be capable of learning to communicate effectively with a 2-way radio.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the routing and scheduling of school buses and drivers.
  • Assign vehicles and ensure a proper distribution of equipment.
  • Act as front line support for drivers with issues related to routes, vehicles, customer service inquiries and complaints.
  • Escalate incidents to the proper authority.
  • Follow company policies regarding pupil/client management and relations with parents, teachers, guardians, and the public.
  • Assist with planning and presentation of safety meetings
  • Responsible for carrying out all Company policies and applicable provincial regulations.
  • Answering phones and two-way company radios in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communicating with parents regarding issues and concerns.
  • All other various and miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.
  • Will be required to cover School Bus routes on an as needed basis.

Job description

Cook Bus Lines is looking for a full-time Dispatcher in Mount Forest. A School Bus Dispatcher is responsible for real-time communication with drivers, school district personnel and parents for daily routes, trips and extra-curricular activities of students for our clients. This important role tracks equipment, monitors drivers and problem solves throughout the day, ensuring on time service and delivery.

The shift for this position is Monday through Friday, worked as a split shift from 6:00 am - 10:00 am and 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Rate of Pay: $22.47 per hour

Job Duties:
