Job summary

Canada Cartage in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Dispatcher to support and monitor all on‑road activities, assign routes and loads, and ensure on‑time deliveries. You will communicate with drivers, customers, and departments to keep our trucking services efficient and reliable during the night shift (Friday - Monday, 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM).

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in dispatch and a high school diploma, with the ability to work flexible hours and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support drivers with trip sheets, access codes, and trip numbers.
• Support senior planner and account coordinator with daily add-ons.
• Ensure Trip Sheets are complete and live updates are maintained.
• Monitor freight movements and address delays or discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with dispatchers and management to keep operations running smoothly.
• Maintain professional phone etiquette with clients and team members.
• Sort inbound driver paperwork to assist payroll.
• Provide information for customer reports to CSR.
• Coordinate repairs with the shop and communicate requirements clearly.

Position Summary

The Dispatcher is responsible for supporting and monitoring all on‑road activities completed by drivers during the shift. Your role involves assigning routes and loads to drivers, monitoring their progress, and ensuring on‑time deliveries while responding to unforeseen challenges such as traffic or weather disruptions. Additionally, you will maintain effective communication with drivers, customers, and other departments to streamline logistics and contribute to the efficient and reliable operation of our trucking services.

Schedule

Night Shift, Friday - Monday - 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM

What you will do

• Assess and support all driver inquiries, supplying drivers with all needed information and tools for their trip. i.e., trip sheets, access codes for locations, trip numbers, tractor keys
• Support senior planner and account coordinator requests, completing all daily add‑ons as required
• Ensure Trip Sheets are complete and A1 live updates are complete, progressing trips as required
• Monitor freight movements and address any delays or discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with other dispatchers and the management team
• Maintain a high level of phone etiquette when interacting with clients and team members.
• Sort all inbound driver paperwork to assist Admin Coordinator for payroll
• Supply CSR with information needed for customer reports.
• Create requests and ensure great communication with the shop regarding all repairs
