Job summary

Trimac Transportation is seeking a Dispatcher in Mississauga, Canada, reporting to the Dispatch Manager. You will communicate load plans to drivers and customers, ensuring safety instructions and regulatory compliance while maintaining up-to-date dispatch data.

The role emphasizes efficiency, driver support, and adherence to Hours of Work regulations, with a strong focus on meeting customer requirements and accurate TMW records. A solid transportation background is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 2–3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Experience in the transportation industry.
• Experience with TMW is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Communicate the load plan to drivers and customers.
• Ensure drivers have proper instructions to perform duties safely.
• Listen to driver concerns and act on them appropriately.
• Ensure the Company meets all customer requirements, and changes are communicated.
• Keep the dispatch system up to date.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency for the company and customer.
• Ensure trailer interior washes are completed where required.
• Record all orders and trip events in the TMW system accurately and timely.
• Audit TMW reports for compliance requirements where applicable.
• Service failure reports are recorded and brought to Branch Manager's attention.
• Ensure drivers have adequate time to perform duties safely within Hours of Work regulations.
• Ensure all drivers and equipment meet regulatory and corporate compliance.
• Assign the proper equipment for jurisdiction and job requirements.

The base salary for this position will be commensurate with experience. The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000 annually.

Reporting to the Dispatch Manager, the Dispatcher will be responsible for communicating the load plan to drivers and customers while also ensuring that all customer requirements are met. An eye for detail is key to the success of someone stepping into this role!

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for:

• Responsible for communicating the load plan to drivers and customers.
• Ensure the drivers have the proper instructions to perform their duties safely.
• Listen to all driver concerns and act on them appropriately.
• Ensure the Company meets all customer requirements, and any changes are communicated immediately.
• Ensure the dispatch system is up to date.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency for both the Company and the customer.
• Ensure trailer interior washes are completed where required.
• Ensure all orders and trip events are recorded in the TMW in an accurate and timely fashion.
• Where applicable audit TMW reports for compliance requirements.
• Service failure reports are recorded in TMW and brought to the attention of the Branch Manager or designate.
• Ensure that the driver has adequate time to perform his duties safely and within the Hours of Work regulations.
• Ensure all drivers and equipment meet regulatory and corporate compliance.
• Assign the proper equipment for the jurisdiction and the job requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 2-3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using a variety of systems.
• Experience in the transportation industry.
• Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
• Experience in bulk and/or hazardous commodities an asset.
• Experience with TMW is considered an asset.
