Job summary

Clean Harbors is looking for a Temporary Dispatcher to support our Industrial Service team based in Sherwood Park, AB. The role handles day-to-day dispatch, onboarding and travel logistics for a high-volume workforce, with emphasis on safety and service quality.

You will coordinate schedules, assist with onboarding, answer calls, and liaise between branches, with hybrid work from office and home and 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

  • Experience in high-volume environments is preferred.
  • Strong customer service background required.
  • Proficient with Windows-based applications and Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and make quick decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Support internal and external customer requests and troubleshooting.
  • Assist branch manager with onboarding and staffing of labor pool.
  • Schedule and coordinate training and travel logistics.
  • Dispatch daily employee activity and manage drivers' hours/services.
  • Liaise between divisions to ensure smooth operations.

Job description

Our Industrial Service team based in Sherwood Park, AB is currently looking for a Temporary Dispatcher. This is a Temporary role that will support all internal and external customer requests and troubleshooting on a day-to-day basis. This is a high-volume role that will require exemplary customer service, ability to make quick decisions and maintain good communication lines between other divisions within the team on regular basis. The role will have direct oversight our seasonal labor pool and will coordinate and support in a number of high-volume activities including onboarding, training and travel logistics.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Assist branch manager with the hiring and onboarding of temp/seasonal labor pool employees; submission of workflows and Driver applications, maintaining personnel files and system databases.
  • Schedules and assigns training as required.
  • Acts as an available resource/ liaison for all labor pool employees; this may include troubleshooting our systems to assist employees with navigating to online training assignments and/or with system access issues.
  • Updates and maintains training records; includes data entries into Learning Management System.
  • Takes all phone calls from employees and other internal customers in a professional and courteous manner, fostering strong relationships with all customers.
  • Provides a daily schedule of the employees’ activity.
  • Manages and dispatches a daily schedule for all employees -to manage the board and get people out to work.
  • Communicates daily with all employees to confirm awareness of schedule and to promote employee engagement.
  • Arranges/coordinates travel for employees; includes booking flights and securing hotel accommodations.
  • Maintains hours of service on all labor pool drivers; ensures employees are compliant with company policies and legislative standards including electronic logs.
  • Maintains and reports PPE inventory counts.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as required by the Clean Harbors business needs.
Qualifications
  • Previous high-volume recruitment and/or onboarding experience
  • Industrial or oilfield experience preferred;
  • Customer Service based background required
  • Proficient in Windows based applications, especially Microsoft Excel;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and make decisions independently;
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proven commitment to providing outstanding customer service;
  • Potential travel overnight to sites if necessary;
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts on a rotational schedule 14 on and 14 Off; Hybrid work from office and work from home;
