Job summary

Savard Group is seeking a reliable Dispatcher to join our Mississauga operations team. You will manage an assigned fleet of drivers, dispatch loads, monitor ETAs and Hours of Service, and coordinate cross-border shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and safe operations.

The role requires 2+ years in dispatch or logistics, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management systems. Temporary to hire with a night shift focus and rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of dispatch, transportation, logistics, or fleet operations experience preferred.
• Cross-border dispatch experience is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned fleet of drivers, tractors, and trailers.
• Dispatch loads and ensure pickup and delivery commitments are met.
• Monitor driver activity, ETAs, appointments, service alerts, and Hours of Service compliance.
• Coordinate cross-border shipments and required documentation.
• Communicate regularly with drivers regarding schedules, routes, appointments, and operational updates.
• Respond to delays, equipment issues, weather, traffic, and other service disruptions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Maintenance, Safety, and other departments.
• Support driver performance through scheduling, coaching, documentation, and utilization management.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records and operational documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve fleet utilization, efficiency, and customer service.
• Assist the Dispatch Manager with reports and special projects as required.

Schedule

• Night shift position (8-hour shifts).
• Must be flexible with scheduling.
• Coverage may include days, afternoons, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as operationally required.
