Job summary

Sunshine Village Corporation in Banff National Park seeks a dishwasher to support a fast-paced kitchen, uphold sanitation, and ensure a steady supply of clean tableware. The role reports to Back of House management and collaborates with all kitchen staff in a remote alpine environment.

There is no required experience, with safety and WHMIS training considered assets. The position is indoor, physically demanding, and offers staff perks like pass access, ski discounts, and wellness benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain highest standards of cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen.
• Follow policies and Sunshine standards as well as adhere to workplace safety and food safety/sanitation regulations.
• Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, floors, kitchen surfaces, and kitchen equipment, in a thorough and consistent manner throughout shifts.
• Load, operate and empty dishwasher, and put dishes away.
• Administrative responsibilities, including conducting regular worksite inspections and filling in logs to ensure proper chemical levels with the equipment.
• Additional cleaning tasks, including daily cleaning of screens, weekly full empty of grease traps, and fridge, freezer, and other equipment cleaning as directed by Supervisor(s) or designates.
• Other duties may be added and assigned from time to time.

Description

Dishwashers provide an outstanding experience for our guests, ensuring sanitation and safety in an organized, efficient, kitchen environment, and maintaining an available supply of clean tableware and cookware in this vital, fast-paced, physical role. Dishwashers report to Back of House managerial and supervisory staff and work closely with everyone in designated kitchen environments.

Additional Considerations

• Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
• This is primarily an indoor position, but is in a remote, winter, alpine environment. Employees must wear appropriate footwear, footwear should be non-slip shoes, for a kitchen environment, and layers for the conditions. Some uniform pieces are provided.
• This is a physically demanding position that requires working at high altitude, standing for long periods of time, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and frequent manual handling of items and heavy loads around 10 kgs. A good level of fitness is required.

This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook, Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
