Job summary

Silvertip Resort in Canmore, AB, is seeking a Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to support our busy kitchen in a world-class resort setting. This on-site role involves keeping dishes and equipment clean, assisting with prep, and upholding a hygienic, safe, and efficient kitchen.

We offer CAD 18–20 per hour plus gratuities, with subsidized on-site staff accommodation and health and wellness benefits after one year. Applicants should thrive in a fast-paced team and maintain a professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform manual labour for extended periods.
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
• Capable of the safe operation of equipment around hot surfaces and blades.
• Maintains high personal hygiene and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Keep all equipment and work areas clean and safe.
• Ensure dishes and small wares are cleaned and sanitized.
• Comply with sanitation standards and Health Department regulations.
• Transport and store all dishes, equipment, and wares.
• Clean refrigeration, storage and work areas regularly.
• Assist with kitchen prep items as needed.
• Assist in banquet and staff cafeteria breakdown procedures.
• Remove garbage, cardboard and recycling.
• Follow opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and dress.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Always keep all equipment and work areas clean and safe and in proper working order.
• Ensure dishes, equipment, and small wares are consistently cleaned and sanitized.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation standards and Health Department regulations.
• Responsible for the transportation and storage of all dishes, equipment, and small wares
• Keeps all refrigeration, storage and working areas in cleaning working order by sweeping, mopping, wiping, and sanitizing.
• Assist with cleaning, peeling, and cutting kitchen prep items as needed.
• Assist in proper breakdown procedures for banquets and staff cafeteria.
• Removes garbage, cardboard, and recycling.
• Follow opening and closing procedures.
• Be continually aware of and maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to perform manual labour for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
• Capable of the safe operation of equipment and working around dangerous equipment such as fryers, slicers, and grills.
• Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding and difficult situations.
• Present yourself in a professional and responsible manner.
• Displays the ability to recognize unsafe work practices.
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Lifting or moving up to 50lbs.

Hourly Wage: $18-$20 plus gratuities
