Job summary

Capilano Group is seeking a hands-on Dishwasher for the Cliff House Restaurant at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in North Vancouver. The role focuses on loading and unloading the dishwasher, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the kitchen team.

You will assist the Head Chef and Line Cooks, follow opening/closing procedures, and help ensure a high standard of cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced environment. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Multilingual skills are considered an asset when interacting with guests and team members.
• Ability to maintain composure and efficiency during peak service hours.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload the dishwasher and ensure clean dishes, glassware and utensils.
• Help maintain overall kitchen cleanliness and organization.
• Assist Head Chef and Line Cooks with necessary tasks and opening/closing procedures.
• Liaise with serving team to support smooth service.
• Participate in daily shipping, receiving and distribution of kitchen supplies.
• Follow HAACP and Food Safe requirements.

Within the grounds of one of Vancouver’s top tourist destinations, this position will give you the opportunity to be part of an iconic location. The Cliff House Restaurant Dishwasher is a key role in maintaining the functionality and appearance of our restaurant and café venues. Main duties include: loading and unloading the dishwasher, paying close attention to clean appearance of individual items, maintaining overall cleanliness of the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef and Line Cooks with necessary tasks and following opening and closing procedures.

What You'll Do

• Liaise with the Serving Team in a positive manner
• Participate in daily shipping, receiving, distribution of kitchen supplies
• Remove full garbage, recycling and other waste to the applicable storage areas
• Clean, sanitize and stock dishes, cutlery, glassware and cooking ware in designated areas
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in cooler, and all storage areas
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work area in the kitchen, specifically the line, prep area and floors
• Follow all HAACP and Food Safe requirements
• Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook
• Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guest’s health and safety
• Be alert to hazards and immediately report any concerns of yours or our guests to your supervisor
• Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired by alcohol, drugs or other causes

Job Qualifications

• Food Safe Level 1 certification is an asset
• Strong communication skills, multilingual is considered an asset
• Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment with the ability to multi‑task

• Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20lbs, climb a step ladder or climb a step stool
• Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business

Considerations

The ideal candidate must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Need to be comfortable working in a high-temperature, high-pressure environment during peak service hours. The wage for this role is $19.33 per hour plus gratuities.
