Job summary

Rothesay Netherwood School is seeking a reliable Dishwasher to join our Food Services team in Canada. This full-time position offers 30–40 hours per week and combines fast-paced kitchen work with teamwork and ongoing learning.

Responsibilities include cleaning dishes, maintaining the dish machine, and supporting kitchen operations. A positive attitude, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and flexible availability are essential for year-round service.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable with bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous restaurant, food service, or customer service experience is asset.
• Ability to interact respectfully with students, staff, and visitors from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Flexible availability, including weekdays, weekends, and shifts throughout the calendar year.

• Ensure a steady supply of clean dishes, utensils, pots, and pans for kitchen operations.
• Clear and bus tables as required and reset dining areas.
• Scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into the commercial dishwasher.
• Wash and sanitize pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain the dish machine to ensure proper operation.
• Unload and organize clean dishes, cookware, and utensils.
• Empty garbage and recycling containers regularly.
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen by sweeping, mopping, and completing general cleaning duties.
• Clean food preparation stations and kitchen equipment.
• Follow food safety standards and report any accidents, hazards, or food safety concerns.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently while adhering to scheduled work hours.
• Work collaboratively with the Food Services team and be open to coaching and ongoing learning.
