Job summary

LutherCare Communities in Saskatchewan seeks a Temporary Disability Support Worker to provide personal care and safety for group home residents with high medical needs. You will implement individual care plans and support daily living activities.

Qualifications

  • Desirable proficiency in sign language.

Overview

LutherCare Communities has been a leader in providing programs, services, and housing to residents across Saskatchewan since 1955. The organization offers a wide range of senior living solutions, including independent living communities, intermediate care homes, long‑term care, group homes for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, and programs such as the Seniors Day Program and the Luther Seniors Centre.

Position

Temporary full‑time and temporary part‑time Disability Support Worker. Responsible for the personal care and safety of group home residents with cognitive and/or physical disabilities who have high medical needs. Duties include implementing individual care plans and ensuring a high quality of life for all residents.

  • Provide personal care and medical support to residents with high medical needs;
  • Implement individual care plans and maintain documentation;
  • Ensure residents’ safety and well‑being during all shifts;
  • Assist with daily living activities and support services as required.
Qualifications
  • Completed post‑secondary education in a related discipline (e.g., Disability Support Worker, Continuing Care Assistant);
  • Minimum of one year experience working with cognitively and/or physically disabled adults with high medical needs;
  • Comfortable providing medical support as required;
  • Desirable proficiency in sign language;
  • Available to work shifts that include days, evenings, nights, and weekends;
  • Good interpersonal skills and fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
