Job summary

Suncor seeks a Health and Wellness Advisor to support employees with short-term disability claims within its IDM team in Calgary. You will adjudicate STD cases, assess fitness to work, coordinate medical interventions, and plan safe return-to-work while educating stakeholders and maintaining records.

This office-based role offers standard 40-hour weeks and competitive compensation aligned to experience and internal guidelines.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of claims and/or disability management experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in the medical or human sciences fields or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of STD plans and LTD contracts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Cority software is an asset.
• Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate and manage employee STD claims in line with legislative requirements and Suncor's processes.
• Assess employee fitness to work and communicate restrictions to the business area.
• Identify and arrange suitable medical interventions to aid recovery.
• Develop a transitional return-to-work plan to enable safe, timely return.
• Educate stakeholders on STD/LTD program requirements and expectations.
• Maintain up-to-date electronic records and ensure data accuracy.
