Job summary

Shared Health is seeking a Disability Management Consultant to direct workplace disability management activities and support ill or injured employees through reintegration into the workforce.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and knowledge of workers’ compensation policies along with privacy and human rights legislation. Travel across Manitoba facilities is expected, with a focus on collaboration among management, unions, HR and external providers.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in human resources, or in a relevant discipline combined with a post-graduate certificate in human resources management from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Direct all workplace activities related to disability management, liaising with stakeholders and supporting ill/injured employees.
• Act as a catalyst for reintegrating employees back into the workplace.
• Collaborate with management, unions, human resources, third-party administrators and external health care providers on disability management issues.
• Travel to health facilities province-wide as required.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, confidentiality, workers’ compensation policies and human rights legislation.
