Role Responsibilities
  • Review documentation such as application forms, medical information, employment details, and information from other insurers like WCB and motor vehicle carriers.
  • Assess claims for rehabilitation potential and develop case management plans.
  • Interview claimants and employers by telephone to make informed claim decisions.
  • Proactively manage claims to minimize disability durations and facilitate return to work.
  • Utilize resources to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with treatment recommendations and participate in rehabilitation interventions.
  • Initiate assessments such as independent medical examinations, functional capacity evaluations, or surveillance when necessary.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive communication with all stakeholders, including claimants, employers, physicians, and legal representatives.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in Kinesiology, Psychology, Disability Management, or related field (asset).
  • Associate, Life and Health Claims (ALHC) designation (asset).
  • 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in English; French is an asset, primarily working with non-francophone groups outside Québec.
