Role Responsibilities
  • Review all documentation, including application forms, medical information, employment details, and information from other insurers such as WCB and motor vehicle carriers.
  • Assess claims for rehabilitation potential and develop case management plans.
  • Interview claimants and employers by telephone to make claim decisions.
  • Manage claims proactively to minimize disability durations and facilitate return to work.
  • Utilize resources for diagnosis and treatment, ensuring compliance with recommendations and participation in rehabilitation.
  • Initiate assessments like independent medical examinations or surveillance when necessary.
  • Maintain clear and ongoing communication with all parties involved, including claimants, employers, physicians, and legal representatives.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in Kinesiology, Psychology, Disability Management, or related field (asset).
  • Associate, Life and Health Claims (ALHC) designation (asset).
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in English; French is an asset, especially for non-Francophone interactions outside Québec.
